In collaboration with the Fritz Schumacher Society, auau – Raum für Architektur presents the exhibition “BENOÎT – artist in architecture”. The exhibition accompanies the publication of the book of the same name, which emerged from a research project by the Chair of Affective Architectures at ETH Zurich.

The evening begins at 6.30 pm with a supporting programme in the neighbouring Friedenskirche. The exhibition can be viewed in the auau premises from around 8 pm.

At the opening, the book’s authors and curators of the exhibition, An Fonteyne and Elke Schoonen, present the diverse and multifaceted work of Benoît van Innis and offer insights into their research project on his work at the intersection of art and architecture. Architect Paul Vermeulen speaks about his collaboration with Benoît and reflects on interdisciplinary working methods, drawing on further examples from the De Smet Vermeulen portfolio. The evening continues with a discussion on the interplay between art and architecture, different forms of collaboration and the concept of shared authorship.

BENOÎT KUNSTENAAR IN ARCHITECTUUR

In samenwerking met de Fritz-Schumacher-Gesellschaft presenteert auau – Raum für Architektur de tentoonstelling “BENOÎT – artist in architecture”. De tentoonstelling begeleidt de publicatie van het gelijknamige boek, dat voortkwam uit een onderzoeksproject van de leerstoel Affective Architectures aan de ETH Zürich.

De avond begint om 18.30 uur met een randprogramma in de naburige Friedenskirche. De tentoonstelling is vanaf ongeveer 20 uur te bezichtigen in de ruimtes van auau.

Bij de opening stellen de auteurs van het boek en curatoren van de tentoonstelling, An Fonteyne en Elke Schoonen, het veelzijdige werk van Benoît van Innis voor en geven ze inzicht in hun onderzoek naar zijn werk op het snijvlak van kunst en architectuur. Architect Paul Vermeulen spreekt over zijn samenwerking met Benoît en reflecteert, aan de hand van voorbeelden uit het portfolio van De Smet Vermeulen, over interdisciplinair werken. De avond wordt afgesloten met een gesprek over het samenspel van kunst en architectuur, vormen van samenwerking en gedeeld auteurschap.

En collaboration avec la Fritz-Schumacher-Gesellschaft, auau – Raum für Architektur présente l’exposition « BENOÎT – artist in architecture ». L’exposition accompagne la parution du livre du même nom, issu d’un projet de recherche de la chaire Affective Architectures de l’ETH Zurich.

La soirée débute à 18 h 30 par un programme d’accompagnement dans la Friedenskirche voisine. L’exposition est visible dans les locaux d’auau à partir de 20 h environ.

Lors du vernissage, les autrices du livre et commissaires de l’exposition, An Fonteyne et Elke Schoonen, présentent l’œuvre riche et multiple de Benoît van Innis et donnent un aperçu de leur recherche sur son travail à la croisée de l’art et de l’architecture. L’architecte Paul Vermeulen évoque sa collaboration avec Benoît et réfléchit, à partir d’exemples du portfolio de De Smet Vermeulen, aux méthodes de travail interdisciplinaires. La soirée se poursuit par une discussion sur l’interaction entre art et architecture, les formes de collaboration et la notion d’auteur partagé.
